Next-Generation Firewall 600 Gbps Throughput Test

Ixia’s CloudStorm 100GE puts Palo Alto Networks’ PA-7080 NGFW through the test with a real-world mix of complex application traffic and security strikes to validate the efficacy of the application and threat detection engine, measure the impact of SSL traffic on performance, and assess mitigation techniques. 

Key highlights of the test include:

• Achieved a staggering 600Gbps throughput with over 100 thousand sessions per second simultaneously from a fully loaded PA-7080 platform
• Max sessions per second test was able to inspect 4.7 million HTTP sessions per second
• Complex application mix test resulted in throughput of 335Gbps, achieving significant inspection performance under duress
• Incredible encryption performance where the PA-7080 was able to inspect over 180Gbps of encrypted traffic and could also handle over 150 thousand encrypted sessions simultaneously
