Keysight’s Ixia Solutions Group and Innovium Collaborate to Deliver 12.8 Tbps Performance in a Single-Chip at 400GE

Ground-breaking Performance Sets Stage for Large Scale Cloud & Enterprise Data Centers

SANTA ROSA, Calif., March 20, 2018 – Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS), a leading technology company that helps enterprises, service providers, and governments accelerate innovation to connect and secure the world, today announced that the company‘s Ixia Solutions Group and Innovium, Inc., a leading provider of networking solutions for data centers, have collaborated for 12.8 Terabits per second (Tbps) performance at 100GbE to 400GbE speeds for large scale data centers on Innovium’s TERALYNXTM switch family.

The Innovium TERALYNX product line is a high-performance scalable Ethernet switch silicon family offering leading analytics, programmability, and buffering. TERALYNX delivers industry-leading 12.8 Tbps performance in a single-chip along with robust tunneling, line-rate programmability and best-in-class low-latency, resulting in a compelling advantage compared to alternatives. TERALYNX includes broad support for 10/25/40/50/100/200/400GE standards that can be flexibly configured to deliver 128 ports of 100GbE, 64 ports of 200GbE or 32 ports of 400GbE in a single device.

“We are excited to partner with Keysight to drive 12.8 Tbps TERALYNX switch performance using Keysight’s 400GE solution,” said Amit Sanyal, vice president of product management and marketing of Innovium. “Achieving this performance at up to 400GbE speeds is important as we work with customers, system vendors and copper and optical interconnect ecosystem partners to drive successful adoption of solutions based on TERALYNX.”

The K400 400GE validation solution from Keysight’s Ixia Solutions Group enables full line-rate traffic generation including transmit, receive, and capture, FEC, and Bit Error Rate testing functionality from 64B to 14,000B frame lengths, and comprehensive Layer 2/3 routing protocol emulation coverage. This ensures that 400GE solutions meet the performance, scale and quality requirements required  by the industry. The K400 test system facilitates stress testing, hardware/ASIC development, optics and cable qualification, interoperability and functional testing.

“Keysight continues to lead the market in bringing proven validation solutions like the K400 load module to market,” said Sunil Kalidindi, vice president of product management of Keysight’s Ixia Solutions Group. “Companies like Innovium look to us for proven test and measurement technology to ensure that they provide their customers with solutions that work. We are proud to work with Innovium on this ground-breaking project to validate 12.8 Tbps performance.”

Innovium will demonstrate its TERALYNX switch solutions at the Open Compute Project U.S. Summit in San Jose, California, March 20th – 21st, 2018. Those interested in meeting Innovium may contact sales@innovium.com. Keysight’s Ixia Solutions Group will provide information regarding the K400 400GE QSFP-DD test system at OCP in booth C19.

Ixia, a Keysight Business, Named Best Field Test Equipment Winner in 2018 Lightwave Innovation Reviews Program

Ixia K400 QSFP-DD-400GE load module runs first ever 400GE traffic on QSFP-DD optics; delivers multi-vendor connectivity

SANTA ROSA, Calif., Mar. 21, 2018 – Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS), a leading technology company that helps enterprises, service providers, and governments accelerate innovation to connect and secure the world, announced today the Ixia  K400 QSFP-DD-400GE load module was recognized as a winner in the 2018 Lightwave Innovation Reviews program in the Field Test Equipment category. Ixia received the award at a reception celebrating finalists and winners on Wednesday March 14, 2018 during the Optical Fiber Conference (OFC).

“We are excited to offer this industry first to the market. Demonstrating 400GE traffic over optical transceivers enables a new generation of 400G product innovation,” said Marie Hattar, chief marketing officer at Keysight. “These new optics will power a wide range of next-generation of services, including 5G.”

At the Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibition (OFC) held last week, the K400 load module sent and received live, full line rate, 400GE traffic to and from Juniper 400G transport technology using LR8 QSFP-DD optics provided by Finisar and Source Photonics. This was the first public demonstration of 400GE traffic over QSFP-DD optics, which helps to accelerates the development of new IEEE 802.3bs-compliant 400 Gigabit Ethernet network equipment and systems.

“The successful interoperability between several industry partners demonstrated at OFC 2018 shows that the 400G LR8 platform is already mature,” said Ed Ulrichs, Director PLM at Source Photonics. “This proves to the market that 400G connectivity will be delivered to the market quickly and enables operators to migrate to the next higher data rate.”

Presented annually by Lightwave, the Lightwave Innovation Reviews program distinguishes top products and solutions available within the optical networking industry as determined by a stellar panel of third-party judges. Judges include industry executives and analysts from a wide variety of service providers, technology developers, industry analysts, and journalists.

"On behalf of the Lightwave Innovation Reviews, I would like to congratulate the outstanding winners," said Lightwave Group Publisher Christine Shaw. "The 2018 program was competitive, and the top scoring companies exemplify innovation in the optical networking industry.”
